The soft smells of sweat, soft sounds of sleeping and breathing surround me, find me gazing out these windows at the beautiful, lit-up, tiny towns below us that fly by, with no discernible base, as if they were all on rails being pulled smoothly past us.
The rolling shutter gray sky breaks open at our backs, letting the sun warm our necks and sweat run down our spines. The rain saturates everything, the whole world smelling peaty and mossy as we charge across great sweeping plains. Cold and bare and yet still looking exalted, the trees crowd around our path, reaching up with their limbs, seemingly to scratch a bit of gray off the sky.
